AIM's first 2008 inductee Steve Conley rose to the challenge Tuesday night with a great debut session at Trenton, Ohio's Brookwood Garage Studio. The young accordion player recorded a traditional Italian piece titled "A Beautiful Night" from esteemed composer Pietro Deiro. The instrumental, from the early 1900's, was covered by the young Conley as an homage and was introduced to him by his teacher Pam Fields. Pam accompanied Steve for his first visit to the studio and has quite a repetoire of music herself. She was a young performer when she began touring with a variety show playing some of the pieces that she has introduced to S.C.. Pam performed for many years before retiring and now finds great joy passing on her amazing talent to her young apprentice. The two may perform a duet for Steve's AIM project but only time will tell. Steve will participate in the program through June and is already scheduled to perform at this year's Main St. Art and Music Festival in June. Stay tuned for more info about this amazing young talent and to hear some of his session work.
